Gentle Yoga at Home for Over 55s: First Session Free Tonight

Looking for a simple way to unwind and sleep better? This might be just what you need.

Our brand new 4-part Wind-Down Series is designed for people over 55 who want to feel calmer, sleep more soundly, and move more comfortably – all from the comfort of home.

Each 30-minute session includes gentle yoga, guided breathing and stretching, and can be done live or on-demand. You don’t need any equipment – just a quiet space and something comfy to sit or lie on.

🕢 Join tonight’s free session at 7.30pm on Zoom:

What’s in the 4-Part Series for Over 55s?

Week 1 – Calming the Nervous System (Tonight)
This gentle stretching session helps shift your body out of ‘fight or flight’ mode and into ‘rest and digest.’ It supports your parasympathetic nervous system, which promotes deep relaxation, better digestion, and improved sleep.

Week 2 – Yoga Nidra
Known as “yogic sleep,” Yoga Nidra is a deeply relaxing guided meditation. You’ll be lying down, listening, and drifting into a restorative state that’s proven to lower anxiety and support better rest.

Week 3 – Releasing the Day
This session introduces pranayama – simple breathing techniques that reduce stress and help you feel centred. Combined with light stretching, it’s a great way to let go of tension and transition into evening.

Week 4 – Attitude of Gratitude
This final session combines gentle movement and a short guided reflection to help you feel more grounded and content. Studies show that gratitude practices can boost emotional wellbeing and even improve sleep.

Why Gentle Yoga and Breathwork Work So Well at Home

Especially in later life, simple home workouts that combine movement and mindfulness can have big benefits. These sessions help you:

  • Improve mobility and flexibility

  • Reduce stiffness and joint pain

  • Lower blood pressure and calm the nervous system

  • Sleep better

  • Feel more connected to your body and breath

And because they’re short, beginner-friendly, and available on-demand, you can fit them into your week without stress.

NHS Advice on Stress Relief After 55

According to the NHS, chronic stress is linked to serious health issues like poor sleep, high blood pressure, and digestive problems.

“Relaxation techniques, such as deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation, can help you feel calmer and more in control.”
– NHS Inform: Managing Stress

The Wind-Down Series gives you easy ways to apply this at home.
