Good for residents, your team and your budget

  • Entertainment on tap

Rainy day? Quiet Tuesday afternoon? There’s a live class most mornings, 1000+ sessions on demand and something social every week. Your activities calendar never has a gap.

  • Cover when instructors can't make it

In-person instructors get ill, go on holiday and move on. Jim’s Gym turns up every week whatever happens, with no rebooking and no awkward cancellations for your team.

  • A fraction of the cost

Around 60 live sessions a month for roughly what three in-person sessions would cost you. It’s almost too good to be true.

  • For the residents who never come to the lounge

Most residents don’t make it to the weekly class. With their own login they join from their armchair, in their own time, and nobody is left out.

  • Fewer falls and injuries

Strength, balance and mobility work cuts accidents. Fewer accidents means lower care costs, less strain on your team and residents who stay independent for longer.

  • No extra staff

Simple to set up and run. No sourcing instructors, no coordinating in-person sessions, no extra rota. Press play and you’re done.

Two ways to bring Jim’s Gym to your residents

  • Communal licence

Best for villages and schemes with a lounge, activity room or clubhouse.

Every live class streamed into your communal space on Zoom, the full on-demand library, access to the Jim’s Gym community, onboarding and training for your team, a three-month review, and fast technical support.

Priced per site, with a one-off onboarding session. Contact for pricing. No contract.

  • Resident memberships

Best for schemes without a communal space, or residents who’d rather join from their own home.

Everything a Jim’s Gym member gets: 15+ live classes a week, the on-demand library, the Healthy Habits Club and the WhatsApp community. Residents join from any phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV.

Priced per resident, with rates for larger groups. Contact for pricing. No contract.

How it works

  • 1. Book a call

Twenty minutes on Zoom or the phone. You tell us about your site and residents, we tell you which option fits and what it costs. No pitch deck.

  • 2. Onboarding

One session on Zoom with whoever will press play. We set up your access, run through the week’s timetable and show your team how to get residents started.

  • 3. Launch

Classes stream into your lounge, residents get their logins, or both. We help you spread the word so residents turn up to the first one.

  • 4. Three-month review

We look at who’s joining in and what they’re enjoying, then adjust the programme. After that, a quick check-in whenever you want one.

What your residents get

  • 15+ live classes every week

Strength, cardio, balance, Tai Chi with Andy, Yoga with Virginia, Pilates with Aimie, Zumba with Row and Dancercise with Anna. All on Zoom, all recorded.

  • An on-demand library

1000+ workouts and recordings to watch any time, including themed progressive programmes residents can follow at their own pace. New sessions added every week.

  • Clubs, talks and monthly extras

The Healthy Habits Club brings Book Club, Art Club with artist John Skelcher and Craft Club. Every month there’s a nutrition talk with NHS dietitian Ian Thomas, a physiotherapy talk with Ed Voss, a Brain Jim and journalling session, and Yoga Nidra and meditation with Virginia.

  • A community, not just a class

Members chat in the WhatsApp community, cheer each other on and turn up for each other. More than half of our members have access needs; nobody is left out.

Meet James

Questions operators ask us

Do residents need any equipment?

No. Every class can be done with a chair and a bit of floor space. Residents who have dumbbells or resistance bands can use them in the strength classes, and we'll tell your team which inexpensive kit is worth having in a communal room.

What does our site need to stream the classes?

A TV or screen, a laptop or tablet with Zoom, and ordinary broadband. If your lounge has a smart TV you may not even need the laptop. We check all of this with you at onboarding and talk your team through it before the first class.

Is it suitable for residents with limited mobility?

Yes. Many classes have seated and standing options, and the instructors show both. Over half of Jim's Gym members have access needs. Residents choose the version that suits them on the day, and nobody is left watching from the side.

How much does Jim's Gym cost for a retirement village?

It depends on whether you want a communal licence, resident memberships or both, and on how many sites and residents are involved. As a guide, a site gets around 60 live sessions a month for roughly what three in-person instructor sessions would cost. Book a call for a straight price. There are no contracts and no joining fees, and both options include every live class and the on-demand library.

Can residents who don't come to the lounge still join in?

Yes. Any resident can have their own membership and join the same live classes from a phone, tablet, laptop or smart TV in their own home. Every class is also recorded, so they can catch up whenever suits them.
