Privacy Policy for Jim's Gym
Last updated: June 2026
At Jim's Gym (www.jimsgym.fitness) we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors and members. Jim's Gym Ltd is the data controller under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal information for marketing purposes.
What we collect and why
We collect personal information such as your name and email address through our website, Facebook lead forms, and partner programme registration forms. We use it to fulfil your requests (such as free workout Zoom links or the Fitness MOT), manage your membership, and — where you have opted in — send you our newsletter. Payments are handled securely by our website platform's payment provider; we never see your card details. Our lawful bases are: contract (providing your membership), consent (marketing emails), legitimate interests (enquiries, service messages, improving our services), and legal obligation (record keeping).
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to run Jim's Gym: Squarespace (website hosting and payments), Mailchimp (email and newsletters), Google (document storage and website analytics), and Meta (Facebook lead forms). Each acts under a data processing agreement and can only use your data to provide services to us. Some providers are based in the United States; transfers are protected by the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and approved standard contractual clauses.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site and improve it. It does not identify individual users. Our site uses essential cookies, plus analytics cookies where accepted — you can manage these via the cookie banner or your browser.
Emails
We use Mailchimp to send our emails and track opens and clicks so we can improve our communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
How long we keep your data
We keep your information while you are a member or subscriber. After cancellation we keep basic records for up to six years for accounting and legal purposes, then delete them. If you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record so we don't email you again.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, object to or restrict its use, withdraw consent at any time, or request a copy of your data. Email james@jimsgym.fitness and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version will always be on this page. Questions? Email james@jimsgym.fitness or write to Jim's Gym Ltd, 3 Fountain Street, Rear Entrance, Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, GL6 0BL.
